I’ve started my last semester of college 3 weeks ago and I’m loving my classes. I’m only taking 2 classes and then I’ll have my Personal Trainer certificate, which is very exciting. One of the classes mostly focuses on how to coach and how to give one-on-one training. The other class is a workout class, which is great to help me get in shape before I take a job as a Personal Trainer. Continue reading
About a month ago, my friend Sae, who I got to know through the Herbalife community, invited me to go down to the beach to do some yoga. I thought it was worth a try, since I had been wanting to get my first real yoga experience for a while now. And let’s be honest… What better setting to have a relaxing yoga session than right on the beach?! Continue reading
I ran my second half marathon 2 weekends ago and I’m so proud of myself because not only broke a personal record, I also finished in less than 2 hours which was my goal! My exact time was 1:56:51, which made me the 1,881st person to finish out of 25,000! Can you imagine how awesome that feels? Continue reading
Today I want to talk about the Gaiam Metro Gym Bag that I’m not only using as a gym bag, but also as a diaper bag, hand bag and everyday bag. I had been looking for a good gym bag for a while, but I always found something that I didn’t like about the bags that I had before. This one is literally everything I need. It has 2 inside pockets so you can organise everything in there. There is a key holder which I also use to put my gym lock on, it has an outside pocket on the 4 sides and you can close those with magnetic buttons which is great. There is plenty of space inside to store your water, towel, weight training journal, vitamins and wallet and it’s just the most comfortable bag. I like both wearing it over my shoulders and in my hands. The color is pretty neutral too and it’s a nice fit with almost all of the workout clothes I own. Another great thing about this bag is that it has straps on the bottom for your yoga or fitness mat. Continue reading
Training for a half marathon is not an easy thing to do. It asks for a lot of motivation, dedication and will power. You can’t just show up at the race without months of preparation. I tell you, that would be mission impossible.
Next to running 5 days a week, I also have a weight lifting class (1,5 hour) on Monday and Wednesday evening and since I would love to actually have abs when showing off in my bikini in a couple of months, I added the Lorna Jane Ab Challenge to my workout week too. Continue reading
For me being fit is something really important. I have always liked working out and especially running. I remember when I just started running that distances like 5k seemed so far! I didn’t know how to start on that and thought that I would need more than an hour. Today, running a 5k is an easy run, a run that I would do on a ‘rest day’. I run 5k in 25 minutes, so for me that’s a great accomplishment. 10k’s are getting easier too, but the hard part about those is that I want to finish them within an hour. I like running rather fast, so normally that’s not such a big problem to accomplish that!
In May I’m going to run my first half marathon in Santa Barbara and I can’t wait to start training for that one! I will follow a 12-week training program and since I’ve never done something like that before, I’m sure it’s going to be a huge challenge! 😉
What’s the longest distance you’ve ever ran?
