Marathon Training: Week 3

Monday:
I had to take a rest day on Monday because my body just couldn’t handle the soreness of my long run on Saturday. 24 miles is a long distance to run and I honestly didn’t expect to be able to take class at all till Wednesday.

Tuesday:
I can’t sit still and take too many days off so I decided to just go to Cross Train on Tuesday morning. It was actually a great way to stretch my muscles and just do it. Even though I was in pain still, I managed to complete most exercises and starting your day off with a workout is seriously the best feeling ever. At night I took burn because I like to combine cardio and muscle building in one day. It makes me pretty sore, but at the same time it helps me stretch my muscles and I feel like I get in a full body workout instead of one single muscle group.

Wednesday:
It was May 4th, which is also known as Star Wars day. Jeremy is a huge Star Wars fan and he came up with the coolest Star Wars themed 45 minute workout. I wore my SW outfit and started the morning the coolest way possible!

Thursday:
REST

Friday:
The kids left to their grandparents’ house at around noon, which gave me some time to get a quick run in before heading to work. I ended up doing 7 miles by the beach and loved every second of my me-time!
Run details: 7 mi | 1:00:01 | pace: 8’34” | elevation: 293 ft

Saturday:
I ran the Tinker Bell 10k at 5:30am and loved everything about this run. After getting back to the South Bay I decided to go to Tag Team, because I knew that if I wouldn’t go to class it would be one of those days where I just sit in my bed and watch Netflix all day long. Something that makes me feel super lazy and that kinda is a waste of the day. After I finished class I did just that anyway, but at least I worked out for 2 hours bright and early in the morning! No guilt here!😉
Run details: 6.71 mi | 1:00:11 | pace: 8’58” | elevation: 82 ft

Sunday:
I ran my fastest half marathon ever. I ran my Tinkerbell Half in 1:44:49. Such an awesome achievement and something I’m very proud of!
Run details: 13.3 mi | 1:46:52 | pace: 8’00” | elevation: 88 ft

Thoughts on this week:
This week was crazy busy for me and it was hard at times to schedule in my workouts. I took one less class than I planned to take and I ran about 8 miles less than scheduled, but at this point I just don’t want to overdo it. My first full marathon is coming up in about 3 weeks and the last thing I want is to be injured for the event. Also, I still managed to get 7 workouts in, which is way more than most people work out in one week! I’m ready for week 4 of my training! Bring it on!😉

Tuesday:

Wednesday:
