I took a break from taking pictures for a little bit, because I just didn’t have time to do what I love at all. I started feeling overworked, tired and just without any energy. About 2 weeks ago, I picked up the camera again and I realized how much I missed doing this and how happy it makes me. For the last couple of days, I tried taking my camera with me again when I go to places and I decided to just use this as some kind of stress reliever.
Taking pictures is my passion, but looking back at pictures makes my heart smile. Time flies and getting pictures of every precious moment makes you relive those beautiful memories. When I was 18 and I went to live in Honduras for a year, I made a couple of videos and took a lot of pictures and even today I’m looking back at those memories and I’m just thankful that I had a good camera and that I have those memories all put together in beautiful scrapbooks. I often forget details or even some amazing moments or evenings I had with people. Going through the captured material makes me relive those forgotten moments of happiness.
I find that photography is some kind of therapy to me. When I have to wake up early, take care of Slaiden, squeeze in a workout here or there and end the day by spending a whole night in class, I’m sometimes just not what I want to be. I feel like time is flying, and I don’t get to do what I planned to do. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do, I wouldn’t want to miss Slaiden for a second and I wouldn’t change the life I’m living for anything else. I sometimes just kinda wish a day would have 40 hours and I would have enough with 6 hours of sleep a night.
What do you do to relax after a very stressful day? Is photography your go-to hobby or do you have something else that totally helps you take a breath after a tiring day?
PS: Don’t you think black and white pictures make the emotions of the person in the picture come out so much better?
