Snorkeling in Cayos Cochinos

Cayos Cochinos (11 of 32)

Hi guys,

Cayos Cochinos has always been on my to-visit list and after wanting to go for 5 years I finally decided to plan it in when I visited Honduras in July. I asked my friend, Eduardo, to come with me as he had been wanting to go too!

Cayos Cochinos consists of 2 main islands, Cayo Menor and Cayo Grande, and 13 small cays. We were picked up at the hotel at 7am, took a little boat to the main island and after that we went to the other island and to a couple of cays. At one of those we took the opportunity to go snorkeling so we could see the amazing coral reef! The coral reef around the islands is part of the world’s second largest coral reef and I can’t even explain how beautiful it was both under the see and on the islands.

If you’re ever in Honduras, you should absolutely go check this place out. We only paid 40 dollars for a service that included picking us up at the hotel in La Ceiba, a boat ride to the islands, a guided tour through this amazing paradise and a boat and ride back to the hotel.

What was the most beautiful place where you went snorkeling?

xo
Julie

I didn’t stay over this time due to a lack of time, but when I’m going back I’m definitely staying! Any pictures of the star clouds that you want to share?😉

oh I just love snorkeling! It has been over a year now..😦 The most beautiful places I’ve been snorkeling are in Thailand: the Similan islands, Koh Tao and Koh Phi Phi. Oh and in Hurghada in Egypt! Totally wonderful.
