First beach run of 2014

This morning, I decided to go for a run at the strand. Since I had arrived here, I’ve been so busy that I hadn’t found the time to go to the beach. I was so excited to go for a run today and you can probably imagine how disappointed I was to see that it was this foggy! I couldn’t even see the water! I do appreciate the beauty of this view though and I must say that this was the perfect weather for working out. I could feel little drops of water in the fog and they were so refreshing during my run. 

I ran 4 miles today, which was a really easy workout for me after training on the treadmill so much last month. I’m now working on a training schedule for the half marathon that I’m going to run in May. You can never start too early with a training plan, right?!😉 I’ve been searching online for plans that I like, but the perfect plan is hard to find. I think that in the end I will just make me own plan, based on the plans I find online. I’ll share it with you in one of my next posts and I would love it if some of you would join me in my journey! It works so motivational and I couldn’t think about a better way not to give up on this.

    I want to run a 5K & I got as far as week 2 into my plan (took me 4 weeks to get there, lol, I don’t over exert myself and listen to my body so as to avoid injury) when I had to take my 3 year old out of daycare. I was hoping she’d start school this past Monday but couldn’t afford it. I HOPE we can afford a gym next month, because they have child care. That way I can get back in shape and train again. I enjoyed it!

      Hi Celena! Working out shouldn’t be expensive at all. Don’t get me wrong, I love going to the gym and for me it works really motivational to go since I have to pay for it. For now, I just workout for free on the streets or with the help of online videos. I’m an au pair so I just take the stroller with me on my runs! Try running half an hour with your 3 year old in the stroller and take her to the park afterwards! You’ll get your daily workout and she’ll look forward to it too! Good luck! xo

        That sounds good! I tried that once but her stroller was terrible for it because she’s much too heavy for the one we have. I’ll look into getting one a little more heavy duty at the end of February I hope. I’m hemmed in here, but I’m determined to get back into it whether it’s in August when she starts school or before.
