From BXL to LAX

Yesterday, on Friday the 13th, the day had come that it was time for me to start a new chapter in a new country! I love getting to know new places and what’s a better way to get to know a country than by living in it?

I first took the plane from Brussels to London and the guy next door was on the same plane as I was! Such a coincidence! On that plane I met this guy that just like me went living abroad for a year after finishing high school and now he was on his way to Japan to live there for a year! It’s so nice meeting people with the same interests as you on your way! It would be so cool to stay in touch with him! He was from the French part of Belgium so we started talking in French and then changed over to some Dutch and English! So Nicolas, if you would ever read this, ‘enchantรฉe’!๐Ÿ˜‰

The second flight was so long! I think that I was 12 hours in the air! In the plane I was sitting on the side of the hallway and that was clearly not the best choice cause the girl sitting next to me went to the bathroom every 30 minutes so I had to stand up the whole time! Well, those things happen and with that being the only problem during the flight I can’t complain!๐Ÿ˜‰

When I arrives at the LA airport I had to cue for over an hour before being able to get to the arrival hall! There the people where I’m staying now were waiting for me and it was so great meeting them! They are really sweet!

I’ve always had an American dream, based on what I have seen in the movies! It may sound weird but I’m looking forward to learning what’s true about this country and what’s made up in those movies.

I’m going to be living in Redondo Beach until the beginning of December and can’t wait to discover the Californian way of life!

One fact I’ve discovered already about the Americans! They are really serious about sports and I love that about them! I hope that sometime soon I get the rules of American football!๐Ÿ˜‰

From now on I hope that I can share lots of pictures of new places I discover!

Keep reading/following to keep up with my adventures!๐Ÿ˜‰

This was an awesome post, welcome to America! My hub is football OBSESSED, it basically dictates our weekends. It’s not too difficult to pick up on bc no one really taught me and I somehow managed to figure it out. What you DO need to know is go out and take advantage of all the food/drink specials, that’s what I do.

Ohh I didn’t know you were living here as well! I read your ‘About’ page and I thought you were still doing your internship in Salamanca. Wow so now we even have more things in common! I’m living in Marina del Rey, and I’ll stay here until August 2014. California lifestyle really is amazing, isn’t it? It feels like summer and vacation every single day! What are you doing here if you don’t mind me to ask? Studying? Working?
Maybe we can meet up for a coffee someday!๐Ÿ™‚

Oops! I should probably update my About page then! I love California! It has always been one of my dreams to live here! I’m working as an au pair at the moment and in January I’ll start studying photography in El Camino! So I can pretty much say that I’m making my dreams and passions come true at the moment! I’ll stay here at least till December 2014! Meeting up would be great, because at the moment I don’t know any people of my age here! Let me know if you’re in Hermosa! We can look for some nice picture spots together then! Love your blog btw!
